There have been several claims about the improper licensing of contractors in South Carolina. We recommend that you physically see a copy of your preferred contractor's South Carolina Specialty Contractor License and ensure they are also bonded. All roofers in the state must be registered to perform work costing over $200. Bonded contractors are allowed to complete work for an individual that costs over $5,000.
