LICENSED, BONDED AND INSURED

Make certain that you are dealing with a genuine roofing contractor before you decide to sign an agreement to have work performed on your home or property. Your home property is probably one of the largest investments you will make.

Things to check before choosing a roofing contractor:

HAS THE CONTRACTOR PRESENTED THEIR LICENSE AND BOND?

In South Carolina there have been several claims that contractors are improperly licensed. It is suggested that you physically see a copy of their South Carolina Specialty Contractors License, and make sure they are bonded as well. All roofing contractors in South Carolina must be registered to perform work that costs more than $200. Contractors who are bonded are allowed to do work that costs over $5,000 for an individual. You can check to see if a contractor’s license is valid by contacting the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation at 803-896-4701.

Licensee Lookup.

HAS THE CONTRACTOR PRESENTED THEIR INSURANCE CERTIFICATE?

Total Home Exteriors, Inc. provides a certificate of insurance to all of its customers. We do this to protect both parties from any potential loss or lawsuits if someone should get injured on site. Our certificates of insurance are signed and should be presented before the start of a project. Upon request, Total Home Exteriors, Inc. will have its insurance agent mail or fax you a personal copy.
